Network Failover BDR

Net Inc offers the only complete cohesive Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution (BDR) designed to backup multiple Windows Servers on and offsite. This solution will replace management intensive, error-prone tape backups and external hard drives while providing much more. It’s completely automatic. With businesses depending more and more on the data stored in their servers, proper backups with data being moved off-site is becoming much more critical.

The Net Inc BDR Solution is fully monitored and managed 24×7. In the event of server failure, we can have your organization up and running in as quickly as 2 hours. In the case of catastrophe, you will have a fully functional server within 24 hours on weekdays and within 48 hours if the event occurs on a weekend.

How it WorksBDR

  • An on-site Net Inc- BDR unit (Onsite NAS) that acts as a local storage device and stand-by server in the event of server failure.
  • Incremental backups done on the Net Inc-BDR as frequently as every 15 minutes
  • Day to day data restoration of files, file folders, emails or email stores.
  • In the event of total catastrophe, where the server and Net Inc-BDR on site are lost, full recovery of data with the previous day’s data from the offsite data center

Security of Client Information

Data is encrypted before it leaves your servers with an encryption key that only we have. Files are then transferred to Data Center in encrypted form, on Net Incs servers located in high security facility. Our software communicates with the remote servers using SSL (Secure Socket Layers) technology.

Backup Frequency

Our service can protect your data as frequently as every 15 minutes, every day. This provides hundreds of additional backup copies vs. tape backup allowing multiple restore points to recover the most current version of your data just prior to the data loss event. Off-site backup frequencies will be dependent on image sizes and internet bandwidth available.

It will be available within 24 hours via VPN connection to Client and its employees, and ready to be used as a virtual server.

  • Full recovery with the previous day’s data being the most current information provided from the offsite data center- in the event of total catastrophe, where the server and Net Inc-BDR on site are lost.
  • Client will contact Net Inc and submit a request for Disaster Recovery Service.
  • Net Inc will work to build Client servers in Data Center and make available for employees.
  • Net Inc will work with Client Employees (with internet access) to build a Virtual Private Network (VPN) between their personal computer and Client Servers (at Data Center).
  • Speed will vary based off bandwidth available to employee. The speed of the Files, Data and Email will not be as effective as original in-office setup.
  • Net Inc will work with Client IT Department/Provider to help restore or rebuild Client servers once the required hardware is in place. Client hardware is the responsibility of Client IT Department/Provider.

disaster recoveryThis service will allow Client employees to continue business within 24 hours of a Disaster. With Tape, External Hard Drive and (File Level) Offsite Backup, a disaster can take days to weeks to continue business operations. Delays are typically due to Hardware Procurement and Restoration of Information back to its original configuration. With Net Inc, your servers and their configuration are imaged and made available based off their last backup

Ownership of the Data

The backup data being stored on the Net Inc-BDR and at the Data Center remains the sole property of the Client. If the Client chooses to terminate services Net Inc will assist Client in the orderly termination of services. This could involve copying the backup image to an external drive which can be synchronized with the data on the Net Inc-BDR. The Client agrees to pay Net Inc the actual costs of rendering such assistance.

Restore and Disaster Recovery

Net Inc will attempt to resolve access, backup, or retrieval problems over the phone on first call within 24 hours of the first request. We can restore a file, file folder, email or an entire mailbox as needed. Please call our help desk for assistance. The Net Inc-BDR can also be used to perform a bare metal restore to dissimilar hardware which means that when a new server arrives, the Net Inc-BDR can be used to restore the most current data to that new server regardless of the server hardware.
